**Job Summary:**

The position involves planning and implementing consumer service processes, addressing and resolving consumer complaints, and acting as a liaison with government officials regarding claims. Responsibilities include investigating complex insurance claims, analyzing coverage, negotiating settlements, and participating in legal proceedings as needed.

 

**Essential Duties:**

- Support the Director of Claims and Claims Supervisors in resolving sensitive complaints.

- Investigate consumer inquiries and complaints from various entities regarding claims.

- Liaise with third-party administrators and prepare monthly reports on consumer inquiries.

- Analyze consumer trends and provide insights to the Claims Director.

- Train new claims personnel and document investigations clearly.

- Evaluate claims coverage and maintain case reserves.

- Collaborate with other departments on overlapping complaints.

- Lead training and research for personal property pricing.

- Assess damage values and adjudicate claims or seek additional authority as necessary.

- Assist with storm losses and other special projects.

- Provide excellent customer service and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders.

 

**Education and Experience:**

- **Insurance Claims Service Liaison:** Bachelor’s Degree in a related field or equivalent experience. Two years of direct insurance claims handling experience and resolution of consumer concerns.

- **Senior Insurance Claims Service Liaison:** Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience, with six years handling complex complaints and claims, plus an Associate in Claims (AIC) designation (or eight years of experience in lieu of AIC).

 

**Qualifications:**

- Strong knowledge of insurance practices, state laws, and complaint procedures.

- Ability to negotiate settlements and explain policies.

- Effective communication and organizational skills.

 

**Physical Demands:**

The role requires frequent sitting, standing, and walking, with the ability to lift up to 30 pounds occasionally.
